Lot of trouble to send a rod in for repair now.Īfter getting Coastal's advice I do my own repair when the tips and line guides go. I have had good success with going to Allstar directly and picking up parts before they were sold and also getting the parent company to send them.
I was at Allstar geting parts to repair a rod tip before they were sold and we were talking about the econorods and the fact that Academy was doing the warranty work on them at the time as part of the deal. IIRC Academy went to Allstar and Castaway and asked them to make the Academy Inhouse rods which may be a China import. the rod is an All Star Trout/Redfish Classic 2-piece 70' spinning. (Should for what the got in a 49$ rod on sale for 39$ some of the time.) They used to warranty these rods with no questions. I bought several of the going out of business rods for 10$ when they cleared the rack. Several years ago Academy had their China made Tournament Choice r in house rods that they sold.
